Porsche 911 80s Variants

There were two unaspirated Porsche 911 models between 1978 and 1989. These were the 911SC which ran from 1978 to 1983 and the Carrera 3.2 which took over in 1984 and went up to the 1989 ‘964’ model, which was essentially a brand new car

The SC and Carrera came in Coupe, Targa and after 1983 Cabriolet versions, and engine sizes changed over the years, from the SC’s 3L [180 bhp] injected to the Carrera’s 3.2 [200 bhp]

Running concurrently was the 911 Turbo, also in the Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet. It was given the distinct model number 930 and had wide wheels and huge spoiler on the back. It ran from 1975 to 1989

One other variant was the ‘slant-nose’ 911 which had pop up headlights and a sleeker envelope, but was essentially just an ‘official’ Porsche body-kit
